Foundations of Graphic Design for Ministry Leaders

  • Course
  • 15 Lessons

How will this help me?

Are you doing graphic design work for your church but feel like you could use some more training?

Does graphic design work always seem to take longer and longer each week?

Is graphic design taking time from the ministry God has called you to serve?

This course will help you design faster (and better) so you can get back to investing in the ministry God has called you to.

I spent 4 years learning graphic design in college and have served the church in creative ministry for over 16 years. I've been the graphic designer, hired and trained graphic designers, led creative teams, and taught ministry leaders how to design faster.

I've seen which design skills are helpful, and which ones aren't.

Are you ready to be equipped with the skills and tools you need to focus less on graphics and more on your ministry?

Exactly what I needed

I am the Senior Pastor of a medium sized church and it feels like most of my week is taken up by doing social media posts, graphics for my sermon, and design work that I never learned how to do. This course is exactly what I needed to help me clarify my brand, helped me learn some time saving tricks, and moved us away from designs that we thought looked cool to helping us communicate on purpose. From color theory and font choices to thinking through the audience I am communicating to, it was the perfect amount of information without making me feel like I was a lost cause. I would easily pay twice what I did in order to learn what I did all over again. A huge thanks to Lunchtime Heroes!

This course is helpful for...

Executive Pastors

If someone on your staff is expected to design without training, they probably feel intimidated by it. This course is the development tool you need to take your staff from feeling like they don't know what they are doing to equipped and invested in.

Ministry Leaders

If you are trying to balance message prep, event planning, and designing tonight's social media post, this course will help. Understanding the foundational pillars of design will help you design faster (and better) so you can invest in the ministry you were called to.

Communications Leaders

If you are serving the church in the area of Communications but haven't had much design training, this course will give you the foundation you need. Not only will it help you communicate effectively with the designers you work with, but it will help you design when needed, too.

Administrative Assistants

More and more the role of Administrative Assistant includes graphic design. If you find yourself needing to "design a quick social post" or "throw together an event flier" for the ministries you serve, this course will give you the design foundation you need to create quality designs, fast.

Why not take a design class?

Because you don't NEED a design class!

The four pillars of design that I'm sharing with you in this course came out of FOUR college classes that I took while getting my degree. On top of that, NONE of my classes prepared me to work in ministry - even though I went to a Christian university!

The knowledge I'm sharing with you in this class is FOUR years of formal design training filtered through 16 years of ministry practice so you learn only what you NEED to learn.

This course gives you ministry specific training that you can't get from a community college class, in less time than a class would offer it.

Design classes run anywhere between 7 weeks and 14 weeks AND usually meet for 3 hours each week. That's a LOT of time!

Would you rather spend as much as 168 hours in a graphic design class at a community college, or spent 1 hour and 34 minutes getting ministry focused teaching?

Meet Matt Curtis

Owner of Lunchtime Heroes

Having spent over 20 years in creative ministry, I’ve served in a variety of roles ranging from graphic designer to Creative Minister. In that time, I’ve seen toxicity spread through organizations when not addressed, led unhealthy teams back to health, and recognized that creative teams can only be effective if they are healthy.

I started Lunchtime Heroes in 2022 to help churches build healthy creative teams and have had the pleasure of working with churches, individual creatives, and non-profit organizations across the country.

Outside of building healthy church creative teams, I enjoy making music under the name Comfy Socks, BBQ, coffee roasting (and consumption), and gaming with friends.
